There is currently a problem with access to the EBSCOHost databases both on and off campus. After entering your username and password in the log in boxes an error message appears and access is denied.

This has been reported to the company and all parties are working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

This problem affects the following databases: Amed, Art Full Text, Art Museum Image Gallery, Avery, Business Source Premier, CAB Abstracts, Cinahl, International Pharamceutical Abstracts, Library Literature Online, LISTA, Medline, SportsDiscus.

On campus students will still be able to get access by following this workaround access route:

1) Go to http://search.ebscohost.com
2) Click EBSCOHost Web
3) This takes you to a list of databases
4) Deselect the eBook collection
5) Place a tick next to the database you want to search
6) Click continue

And off campus users can get access by using a temporary username and password and the following the steps below. To get the username and password either contact the library or pick it up from our forum on CampusMoodle by following this link.

1) Go to this web address: http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=uid&profile=ehost
2) Enter the temporary username and password, and click login
3) This takes you to a list of databases
4) Deselect the eBook collection
5) Place a tick next to the database you want to search
6) Click continue

We are pleased to announce that you can now find out what articles are available full text and online from RGU within Google Scholar: http://scholar.google.co.uk/.

Once this is set up when you look at your search results you will see a Full Text@RGU link next to any articles that are available from RGU.

Do you have any unpaid library fines?

RGU:RAG, the charity society for RGU, is holding its annual RAG week be­tween the 14-19 February to raise funds for a variety of charities.

The Library has agreed that fines paid be­tween 13-17 Feb will be donated to Womens Aid and Venture Trust. So, if you pay fines next week you’ll also be helping RGU:RAG.
